How do I get a workspace for my team or department?
You can get a new workspace for your team or department by filling out the Slack Enterprise Grid Workspace Application.

The grid is more than I pay now, why should I choose it?
In pro and business plus plans, each person is paid for in each workspace. So the more workspaces an indivdual participates in, the more expensive it is for that multi-workspace user. In the grid, you only pay once for an individual user. So the more workspaces an individual participates in, the more realized savings are achieved.

With the grid, there are pricing discounts achieved with volume. So the more people we get to participate in the grid, the greater the savings for everyone. Grid also comes with some added benefits like SSO and automatic user provisioning to your workspace/channels.

The last main benefit of the grid is that because users are billed and nothing else, you don’t pay for additional workspaces. This can be used as a strategic advantage within a college or Division. Things like a Research Development workspace that contains Researchers, Software Developers and IT people collaborating on specific software or compute challenges.

Another opportunity is a Business Office workspace where all of the financial business happens with department heads and department finance people from within your unit, enabling streamlining reconciliations or fast communication and collaboration for grant proposals.

None of that would have any additional cost.
